What’s All This Then?
Practical Application focuses on useful instructional technology and instructional design practices, tools, and techniques.
What You’ll Find Here
I’m a journalist by trade, so I have little time for the enigmatic prose lining countless academic journals (I’m also too stupid to understand half of what those esteemed scholarly types are talking about). If flowery language and flimsy opinions are what you’re about, you’ll be happier elsewhere.
My goal is to share my own successes and failures in the instructional tech world while learning from other professionals in this field. I’m a believer in the two-way power of the Web, so I welcome any and all comments, thoughts, criticisms, witticisms, and assorted errata (especially if it’s funny).
Who’s Responsible for This?
My name is Mac Slocum (unless I’ve libeled you; then I go by “Enrico Pallazzo“). Professionally, I’m an Instructional Designer. I’ve also been doing this Web thing for about 10 years at my other sites (Filmfodder, TV Fodder, and The Indiepub Blog).
